Description

For the 2022 edition of NADA New York, Gaa Gallery is pleased to exhibit new works by Kaylie Kaitschuck and Emily Yong Beck. In pairing Kaitschuck’s yarn and felt embroideries and Yong Beck’s hand-built ceramic sculptures, this presentation engages a tactile and maximal dialogue on the intersections of craft, humor, identity, and culture. Working with familiar symbols and nostalgic icons, Kaitschuck and Yong Beck accept that nothing is as it seems. Through their work, they overlap reality with the fantastical to produce vibrant and conceptually engaging work that teeters between joy and decay.
